The Unsell Law Firm, P.C. helps those with serious neck and back injuries recover against the responsible parties. The neck is part of our spine, and it plays a vital role in our ability to move and function. An injury to the neck, or in medical terms, the cervical spine, can cause serious life altering effects. The symptoms of a neck injury include pain in the neck, headaches, numbness and pain in the hands and arms, radiating pain, tingling in the upper limbs, among others.

Neck injuries include bulging discs in the cervical spine, neck muscle strains and sprains. While bulging discs often require immediate surgery, neck strains and sprains can persist causing a condition known as kyphosis. Kyphosis is the straightening of the cervical spine. When the cervical spine (neck) is in a normal position, the cervical spine is said to have lordosis. Lordosis means that your neck looks like a "C". In other words, there is a natural curvature to your neck. When your neck loses lordosis, and that loss of lordosis is chronic, physicians will diagnose you with kyphosis. This condition can be the result of trauma to the neck or a result of age. In younger patients trauma is almost always the cause of kyphosis. Kyphosis over time can cause bulging discs.

Even without causing serious disc bulges or flattening, kyphosis can cause painful symptoms such as headaches and neck tension. These symptoms can be associated with the unnatural curve of your neck. After you sustain a neck injury it is vital you receive the treatment necessary to address any bulging discs, neck strain, loss of lordosis, or kyphosis. Failure to do so can create a life-time of symptoms.

Discs surround the spine and protect it from injury. However, disc bulges can put pressure on your spine or nerves which are running to and from the spine. Disc bulges in the cervical spine (your neck) are serious and can make your life miserable. In 100% of cases, once the disc has been injured, it will never heal. That said, you can do something to stop the pain. There are many treatment options available. Those options include surgery but are not limited to surgery.

Whiplash is a common term for a neck strain. After a car wreck, whiplash is usually the result of your neck overextending causing injury to the muscles in your neck. These muscle can take three to six months after a car wreck to heal. During that time you are likely going to feel headaches and neck pain, among other symptoms. When whiplash symptoms persist for longer than a few months, you may be experiencing kyphosis. Don't let that condition go untreated.

The Unsell Law Firm, P.C. prides itself on recovering for clients with neck injuries that are caused by trauma. If you have received a neck injury as a result of a car wreck, semi-truck collision, slip and fall, or work place injury, it is important to discuss the circumstances of this injury with a lawyer to determine if your injuries may be covered by the responsible parties insurance. If your injuries were caused by the carelessness of another, you have a right to pursue medical bills, lost wages, disfigurement, and permanent scarring against the responsible party.

At your intial consultation, our staff will take you through your options and address the process moving forward. We will discuss how you will recover and explain whether a lawsuit needs to be filed or if an out of court settlement is possible.
